For the blockbuster exhibition, “Matisse to Malevich: Pioneers of Modern Art from the Hermitage”, Todd was asked by the Museumstudio to help create a space for a multimedia installation, or as they like to call it in their vision-statement, “a dream machine”. The venerable museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia has a new annex in Amsterdam that’s quickly proving to be one of the largest cultural draws of the city.
From the Hermitage website: “Outstanding works by Matisse, Picasso, Van Dongen, De Vlaminck, Derain and many other contemporaries of theirs will be seen in a magnificent display from 6 March 2010 to 17 September 2010 at the Hermitage Amsterdam in the exhibition Matisse to Malevich.”
